Please join this October for the 2019 Illinois Special Olympics Equestrian Games
at Poplar Grove, Illinois!
The Equestrian competition will be conducted at BraveHearts at the Bergmann Centre in Poplar Grove, Illinois. Riders will compete in a variety of equestrian events, including English and Western Equitation and Showmanship competitions.
Last year, rain and chilly temperatures did not stop the Sunrise Center North riders from shining as they competed in the 2018 Special Olympics Illinois Fall Games the weekend of October 19-21, 2018. Our riders brought home a total of 17 medals including: 8 Gold; 6 Silver and 3 Bronze. Winning riders include Austin, Cameron, Grace, Katherine, Mikayla, Noah, Rikki, Serene, and Tim. They all rode wonderfully, and the smiles were endless! Thank you to all of the volunteers and families that came out to support our amazing athletes’ efforts!
Also, Sunrise Center North would like to thank Exelon’s Dresden Nuclear Generating Station for its continued financial support for our participation in the Games.
